Phil Dunning and Gary Maguire changing a brake on an A320. Engine change on VH-HYR following a problem found doing a boroscope inspection of #1 engine. VH-HYR new engine being installed. On the wing of an A320 for the retirement of our storeman, Peter Doig, of 35 years service.  Jeff Goodwin, Mark (flaps) Hyslop, Chris Brotherton, Peter Doig, Wayne Curtis, Barry Spark and Clark Rees (kneeling)
Mark Hyslop using the brand new Video Boroscope unit.  One of the best pieces of equipment we had ever had. Cracked window VH-CZV.  This picture shows it best.  Happened around 35,000ft On the wing of VH-CZF for National Bandanna Day Just one of those days when you wished you stayed home.  VH-HYL was bought to the hanger in the morning after having a bird strike to be followed shortly after by VH-HYE with a hydraulic leak.  2 planes in one day was unlucky.
An example of the quality of the boroscope picture we could see with the new Video Boroscope.  This is of some cracks in the combustion chamber and would have been sent to Technical Services for their evaluation also.  Note the date on the picture. Also from the Video Boroscope showing acceptable cracks in the combustion chamber liner Jeff Goodwin and Wayne Curtis with an Avionics problem.  Testing the Pitot-Static system on a 737 From the Video Boroscope showing Turbine Blades showing some normal wear and tear.
Movie Part 1.    10 seconds of video of retraction tests on an A320.  The movement is slower than normal due to only electric pumps being used Movie Part 2.    If the retraction was being carried out using engine driven hydraulic pumps it would be smoother The one inside the fuel tank of VH-CZM is of Clark Rees Clark Rees, Stuart Miller, Barry Spark
and Brenton Dowling.
