Convair 440

The Convair 440 was a very robust aircraft. When Ansett brought them into service they worked them hard, and when Airlines of South Australia took control of them they had a much easier run. According to Alan Lawson they were generally a good aircraft to work on except for the engine fire warning system and navigation light dimming relays.

Alan worked with N.I.C., ANA., and Ansett - (1956 to 1993)
