Spirits of Ansett

Welcome to Spirits of Ansett, a site which is dedicated to all those who have worked for Guinea Airways, Ansett Australia and its Subsidiaries in South Australia.

If this is your first time here take a few minutes and see how a GREAT Australian airline developed through persistence, determination and hard work from one man – Sir Reginald Ansett, with the help of some very dedicated people.

If you enjoy what you see, tell your friends to take a look. Maybe, you have some old stories or photos that you would like to share with us. Now that Ansett is no longer with us, it is very important that we have a place where we can store Ansett stories and photos for others to see. Please email me - schulze@spiritsofansett.com  with the details.

The Spirits of Ansett luncheon on Thursday 9th October was attended by 65 people. At next year’s luncheon we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Spirits of Ansett. Don’t forget it will be the second Thursday in October next year. Photos from this year’s luncheon can be seen by clicking on 2008

Within the next couple of weeks there will be an article on the “Kyeema “ air crash. There was a commemoration of this event on Saturday 25th October 2008, marking 70 years since the crash in the Dandenong's. Macarthur Job has written a most interesting book on the air crash and important navigational changes that were made as a result of this accident which killed all passengers and crew onboard.

Can I make a plea to you all if you have any interesting stories or photos about your days in Ansett please let me know –  schulze@spiritsofansett.com  (If they are interesting we will add them to the site.)
